What makes Tom Lint’s lectures so good?

Dr. Lint lives by these rules for his lectures:

  1. be passionate about your topic – this is what motivates you to bring energy to the talk but also to continually improve it with new stories, mnemonics, etc.
  2. let students know what will be covered on the exam; adult learners are very practical, they want to know what is relevant to their future efforts – in this case that is taking the exam.
  3. use plenty of stories: these can be clinically based, personal, humorous or all three. We naturally gravitate toward stories, it helps us remember
  4. use mnemonics and other memory aides to help your students remember the material.
